Gill discovered her love of black and white photography at high school over 30 years ago. Her 7th form year consisted of many hours in the darkroom, processing film, manipulating light, shadow and time to achieve the right image.

After an OE and tertiary study, Gill worked in the hospitality industry in Ōtautahi, Christchurch during the mid-'90s when the opportunity arose to own a photography studio and collaborate with some really talented people. There was also no shortage of hospo staff and friends who were keen to be models!
